We provide personal and commercial insurance solutions through a variety of respected insurance carriers and place a strong emphasis on long-term client relationships, responsive service and individualized coverage.

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Lines Account Manager / Account Executive to join our team.

This is primarily an account management, client service and inside-sales position. Outside production is optional and is not required.

Why Eagle Point?

This is an opportunity to join an independent agency where you can develop meaningful client relationships, work directly with agency leadership and have the autonomy to manage your accounts without unnecessary corporate layers.

We are looking for an experienced commercial insurance professional who wants to be an important part of a growing agency and values professionalism, responsiveness and strong client relationships.

Position Overview

The Commercial Lines Account Manager / Account Executive will manage and service an assigned book of commercial property and casualty business while also supporting new-business and inside-sales opportunities.

The ideal candidate can independently manage commercial accounts, understands commercial coverages and underwriting requirements, and is comfortable communicating directly with clients and insurance carrier partners.

The position includes responsibility for renewals, policy servicing, remarketing when appropriate, coverage review, client communication and identifying opportunities to round out and grow existing accounts.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of commercial property and casualty insurance experience.
  • Active Property & Casualty insurance license in good standing is required.
  • Minnesota and/or Wisconsin P&C licensing is preferred. Candidates licensed in another state must be eligible and willing to obtain any Minnesota and/or Wisconsin licensing required for the position.
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial property and casualty insurance coverages.
  • Experience independently managing commercial accounts and client relationships.
  • Experience handling commercial renewals, endorsements, certificates and other account-service needs.
  • Ability to review exposures and identify appropriate coverage considerations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts, renewals and deadlines.
  • Comfortable working directly with clients, underwriters and carrier representatives.
  • Strong computer and agency-management-system skills.
  • Professional, dependable and client-focused approach.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working for an independent insurance agency.
  • Experience managing a small-to-middle-market commercial book of business.
  • Experience marketing and remarketing accounts with multiple commercial insurance carriers.
  • Experience with inside sales, account rounding and new-business quoting.
  • Experience with agency management systems such as Applied Epic, AMS360, HawkSoft, Sagitta or similar.
  • CIC, CISR, CRM or other relevant insurance designation.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage and service an assigned book of commercial property and casualty accounts.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for commercial clients and develop long-term client relationships.
  • Review client exposures, insurance needs and existing coverage.
  • Manage the commercial renewal process from beginning to completion.
  • Gather updated exposure and underwriting information from clients.
  • Prepare applications and submit new and renewal business to appropriate carriers.
  • Market or remarket commercial accounts when appropriate.
  • Review carrier quotes, proposals, policies and endorsements for accuracy and coverage.
  • Communicate coverage options, recommendations and policy changes clearly to clients.
  • Process policy changes, endorsements, certificates of insurance and evidence of property insurance.

  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation in the agency management system.
  • Identify cross-selling and account-rounding opportunities.
  • Assist with inbound leads, referrals and other inside-sales opportunities.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with insurance carrier underwriters and representatives.
  • Collaborate with agency owners, producers and other team members.

  • Bonus and incentive opportunities may be available for inside sales, account rounding, cross-selling and new-business development.
  • Candidates who choose to participate in optional outside commercial sales and self-generated production will have the opportunity to earn additional commission or incentive compensation.
  • Exceptional candidates with significant commercial P&C experience may be considered above the stated salary range.

Work Arrangement

Our office is located in Lake Elmo, Minnesota.

In-office or hybrid work is preferred. We believe some in-person interaction is valuable, particularly during onboarding and when working collaboratively with the agency team.

We will also consider fully remote candidates with significant commercial P&C experience and a demonstrated ability to independently manage a commercial book of business, client relationships, renewals and carrier interactions.

Optional Outside Sales Opportunity

Outside sales is not required for this position.

For candidates who enjoy business development, there is an opportunity to generate additional commercial business through outside sales and receive additional incentive or commission compensation for qualifying self-generated production.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who already knows commercial insurance and enjoys taking ownership of client relationships.

The right person will be able to step into an established independent-agency environment, understand what needs to be done, communicate confidently with clients and carriers, and manage accounts from renewal and remarketing through policy issuance and ongoing service.

Just as importantly, we are looking for someone who values responsiveness, professionalism, teamwork, good judgment and doing what is right for the client.
